Faster Drive: Error Opening .pdf Files

Modified on Sat, 3 Jun, 2023 at 11:36 AM

Some users have reported receiving a window that looks like the image below when trying to open .pdf files from Faster Drive:

This occurs when Microsoft Edge is set as your default .pdf app and is not capable of displaying certain types of files when opened through Faster Drive.

Configure Acrobat or Foxit to open PDFs

To resolve this issue, simply change your default .pdf program to something other than Microsoft Edge.  To do this, follow the steps below:

1.  Go to the "Start" menu and type "default", then select the option for "Choose a default app for each type of file.

2.  Scroll through the list to find .pdf on the left, then click to button to the right to see a list of available apps for that file type.

3.  Select a different app.  If you have Adobe, Foxit, or another PDF viewer installed on your computer, this would be best.  If not, Google Chrome is the suggested internet browser for viewing .pdf files.
