Folder Structure Templates

Many firms prefer to use a standardized set of folders to organize their documents for each matter. By creating a folder structure template in Faster Drive, this can easily be accomplished without having to recreate the folder set every time a new matter is opened.

Creating a folder structure template

First we’ll need to create a location to save our folder template. We recommend creating a matter in Clio under the (INTERNAL) client and calling it something like "Divorce Folder Template", but you can create yours for any client and give it any name you’d like. Once the matter is created, we’ll click the Refresh button.

Now we can navigate through Faster Drive to the folder for the new matter and create a set of empty folders that we’d like to populate for new matters of this type. Keep in mind we can also create subfolders here as well.

Using the folder structure template

When our folder template is complete, we can simply copy all of the folders in the folder template matter and paste them into any new matter we create.
