Update: To the Latest Version

Modified on Thu, 03 Aug 2023 at 05:39 PM

Not everyone in your firm will get updates at the same time
We want to make sure that updates go off without a hitch so updates will "trickle in" gradually to the members of your firm.  This means that it is likely that for a period of time, different people in your firm will be running different versions.  This is good because it protects your firm in case there is an issue with an update.

Automatically Installing Updates

Latest Automatic Update
The most recent auto-update of Faster Suite updated users to version: 21.03.10
When a new version of Faster Suite is released, Faster Suite will automatically update in the background.  Once the upgrade is complete, Faster Suite will perform a full data sync with Clio which will cause Faster Suite to temporarily only show some of your data while it pulls in the most recent data from Clio.

Manually Installing Updates

Manual Download
The Free Download button found on our website, www.fasterlaw.com, will always download the most recent version of Faster Suite
If the Faster Suite application directed you to this web page then that means a brand new update to Faster Suite has been released but your computer hasn't updated yet.  Normally computers will automatically upgrade to the latest version within 24 hours of it being released so if you've seen this message for longer, then it means your PC might be having problems downloading and installing the update (usually this is because of over-zealous antivirus software).

Manually installing the update is easy though! Here's all you have to do:
1. Exit Faster Suite
2. Download the latest version from our website
Clicking the Free Download button will download the most recent version.
3. Run the file that you downloaded.
4.  Faster Suite will automatically upgrade itself to the latest version.

Updates Roll Out Gradually

Whenever we are about to release a new version of Faster Suite, we do the following:
1. First, "Nightly" channel users get the update.
2. If no issues are reported, "Preview" channel users get the update a few days later.
3. If no issues are reported, downloading from our website will start offering the update.
3. If no issues are reported, "Stable" channel users gradually start getting the update.
4.  Finally, if no issues are reported, "Super Stable" channel users will start getting the update.

Selecting your Update Channel

To select your update channel:
1. From the Faster Suite ribbon, go to Faster Suite > Settings.
2. Select Advanced > Updates

From this screen you can see your current version of Faster Suite and choose the channel you want to receive updates from.

Update Announcements

When a new version of Faster Suite is available, we do everything we can to make sure you are notified and automatically updated.

1. Links to interim updates will expire and downloads will be redirected to the latest version.

2. We will send out an email to let you know the new version is released. You can download from the link in the email or wait for Faster Suite to update automatically based on your automatic update settings.

3. If any settings have changed on our side, they will be listed in our release notes so you can be prepared to change your settings and firm-wide settings after the update.

4. We will also post on our Facebook page as well as the Clio Co-Counsel Facebook page to notify users that way as well.

5. You can check the article for each feature to see if the button has moved on the Faster Ribbon.

6. In some rare cases, your computer may not successfully install the automatic update or we may release an interim update that isn't automatically installed. If you ever want to check the current version of Faster Suite to make sure you're up to date, check our current version page.
