Licensing: How Licensing Works

Modified on Sat, 3 Jun, 2023 at 12:02 PM

No License Codes!

Faster Suite licensing is server-side and you will not need to download or save a license key or license file - the license is automatically available once it has been purchased.

Human-based Licensing

When you purchased your Faster Suite license, you did so for a specified number of humans.  We want licensing to be easy and automatic so licensing is controlled by the domain name portion of your Clio username:

Each person that signs into Faster Suite using an email address with the domain from the license will automatically be assigned to an available seat and reduce the total available licenses by one until there are no seats remaining.  You can purchase additional users at any time to make room for new staff.

If you don't want users at your firm to be able automatically claim licenses, ensure that the correct users immediately download and install Faster Suite to prevent other users from claiming their spot. Once a license is claimed, it can only be reassigned under certain circumstances.

Devices

Unlimited Devices
Faster Suite licensing is based on the number of humans who use it.
If a person at your firm wants to install Faster Suite on their work PC, their laptop, and their home PC, that is completely OK and a good thing for them to do.  For security purposes, each human can be signed into Faster Suite on one device at a time so when you run Faster Suite at work, it will temporarily exit on your home computer.

Notes

According to Clio's Terms of Service (section 3.2), each user in Clio requires their own login which cannot be shared with other users.  While we do not enforce Clio's licensing, we follow a similar model.
