Using Shortcuts in Faster Suite

If you’re a fan of using your keyboard to get around on your computer, then you’ll want to learn how to use Faster Suite’s keyboard shortcuts.

Identifying Shortcuts

Most Faster Suite interfaces have keyboard shortcuts.

Let’s pull up a new time entry by opening the New drop-down on the Faster Ribbon and clicking Time Entry.  When you see a field with a letter next to it, you’ve identified the shortcut to move to that field without using your mouse by holding Alt on your keyboard and pressing the letter shown.

Using Shortcuts

For instance, in this window we can see that the Description field has a Q next to it.  That means we can press Alt+Q on our keyboard to jump directly to that field and begin typing.

Now let’s hold Alt and press the + key.  This will add some time to the time entry.

Next, we’ll hold Alt and press the M key to move to the matter filter field and search for a matter.

Now that the list is filtered, we can select a matter by holding Alt and pressing the number associated with the matter we would like to select, numbered 1-4.

Finally, we can save the time entry by holding Alt and pressing 0 on our keyboard.
