Faster Time: Pausing the Timer

Modified on Thu, 18 May, 2023 at 6:13 PM

Faster Time uses advanced algorithms so that it can know exactly how long you are spending on different tasks and activities.  When you're using Faster Time, you will never need to pause or resume a timer.  That happens automatically.

Idle-Time Tracking

Idle-time tracking is one of Faster Time's greatest features. This is configurable in Faster Suite > Settings > Revenue Generation > Time Tracking. It is enabled by default with a default threshold of 5 minutes.  When Idle-Time Tracking is enabled, if Faster Time detects that you haven't typed on your keyboard or moved your mouse for the specified period of time, it will do the following:
  • Pause the current timer
  • Back-track the current timer by the threshold duration (this way clients don't get billed for the first 5 minutes you're away
  • Start a new "Away from the Computer" timer

When collecting idle-time, Faster Time will not be able to automatically associate a client and matter.  You will need to provide one when creating the time entry.
