Faster Mail: Different formats for dates when preserving emails

Modified on Tue, 16 May, 2023 at 2:09 PM

REQUEST
Users would like to be able to customize date formatting in the file names of preserved emails.  Currently, the date shows as YYYY-MM-DD, but some users would like to be able to use periods instead of dashes, rearrange the date to show the year last, or remove the day.  Separate tokens for year, month, and day would allow this customization.

RESPONSE
We have no plans to develop this feature at this time

REASON
YYYY-MM-DD is the standard date format for many different apps.  Changing this format could cause a number of different problems with those apps.  Additionally, using periods instead of hyphens can lead to problems with Windows recognizing file types.
